I am currently writing an essay, and one of my main body paragraphs includes how an ecologist would be able to assist a nuclear physicist in making a safe power plant. Anyone have any ideas?

The problem with making safe Nuclear plants is above all a political problem. There is no political will to make them safe. If you want to know more about this problem, check the links from the Union of Concerned Scientist, who have been denouncing unsafe practices for decades.
