– The construction of Seversk NPP will guarantee worthy future for our region and city

The shut-down of ADE-5 reactor was natural. It was part of an agreement, an obligation we could not but fulfill. But this does not mean a shut-down of nuclear power engineering in Seversk. We are planning to build a nuclear power plant in the city and our people support this project. It will give a new impulse to the development of Seversk.

As regards the near future, some people are concerned to know that the ADE-5 reactor will be replaced by a thermal power plant. They are afraid that they may be left without heat in the winter but this is impossible. There are certain economic problems with the reconstruction of Seversk TPP but I am sure that that plant has enough capacities and our people will not be left without heat.

The TPP will be a temporary substitute. Our people understand that only a nuclear power plant can ensure our stable development. I think that the construction of Seversk NPP will guarantee worthy future for our region and city. This project will attract huge investments and will give our region plenty of energy for progress.
