A few days ago the energy ministers of G8 and their colleagues from India, China and South Korea discussed the situation over the growing fuel prices in the world and made public the scenarios and strategies to 2050 by the International Energy Agency. In this document the IEA recommends the governments of all countries to develop renewable energy sources and nuclear energy, to save energy and to reduce CO2 emissions.
Today, the world countries must diversify their energy sources. The growing oil prices reflect the changing ratio between the offer and the demand. Lots of oil companies are beginning to think about diversification because they have few new oil deposits. This is a serious problem. So, the use of alternative energy sources is a quite sensible strategy in this light.
I think that many countries will increase their electricity production by building new nuclear reactors. Even though some people are afraid of NPPs, experts say that the present generation of nuclear reactors is very safe.
