Unlike the other countries where Russia is building NPP on a “turnkey” basis, in India Atomstroyexport is just drafting technical project and working documentation, supervising the construction, delivering equipment, consulting the constructors and training the operators.

The rest of the work is being done by the Indians. In fact, the Indians are building the plant themselves even though they have no practical experience in building nuclear reactors of Russian design. I think that this will result in certain delays in the schedule. Presently, the Indians have begun the start-up work. Over 83% of necessary equipment and 98% of necessary project documentation have already been supplied to the construction site.
