If the world oil price exceeds $250 per barrel, the gas price will hit $1,000 per 1,000 c m, President of Gazprom Aleksey Miller said in Baku on July 3.
If the oil price exceeds $250/barrel, the gas price — $1,000/1,000 c m, the competitiveness of nuclear energy will substantially grow. In fact, NPPS will become the only alternative to expensive energy sources. The growing oil and gas prices will certainly boost a rise in the electricity tariffs. So, I think that the only factor that will be able to curb this rise in the near future is nuclear energy.
With its huge ecological potential, nuclear energy will soon become the key element of the whole European system of energy security. I am convinced that the countries earlier wishing to shut down their nuclear power plants, for example, Germany, will adopt programs to revive and develop nuclear power engineering. As for poor developing countries, NPPs will be their only salvation from energy hanger.
