– The idea to establish a National Nuclear University is a correct and timely decision

During a conference on nuclear energy development in Elektrostal on July 29 2008 Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin said that it was necessary to quickly prepare proposals for establishing a National Nuclear University of the basis of Moscow Physics Engineering Institute. He said that the development of effective personnel training systems was crucial for the nuclear sector.

The idea to establish a National Nuclear University is a correct and timely decision. In order to effectively implement the federal target program to build 26 nuclear reactors in the next 12 years we need a wide range of specialists. Personnel training activities must be controlled by one institution. Otherwise, they will be ineffective. That’s why we must consolidate our specialized educational institutions into one holding, which will control the whole personnel training system and the quality of education.

This project is part of the state strategy for the development of the nuclear sector. Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation has been established exactly for consolidating all the capacities necessary for the development of the sector. We have not built anything for 20 years already. Now we are planning to build much and quickly. Rosatom has been set up to make these plans true and it is successfully implementing its mission and is showing very good results.
