Anatoly Kozeradsky, member of the State Duma Committee on Regional Policy and Federation Affairs

— Long-term program for nuclear power sector development will certainly be supported on the legislative basis

The long-term program for the nuclear power sector development, submitted to the State Duma during the Wednesday closed-door “Government Hour,” will certainly be supported – and on the legislative basis, in particular, says the press service of State Duma deputy Anatoly Kozeradsky.

“On Wednesday Sergey Kiriyenko presented a very objective and clear picture of the nuclear power sector development in the country. In my opinion, this problem is very topical today,” says Kozeradsky.

He notes that, presently, Russia is lagging behind many countries in nuclear power production even though it has much more resources.

As reported earlier, on Dec 6 the State Duma approved the first reading of the bill “On the Peculiarities of Management of the Property and Shares of the Organizations Operating in the Sphere of Nuclear Power Use and On Relevant Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation.”

The bill suggests uniting the sector companies into a vertically integrated JSC managed by Rosatom and covering all the enterprises of the power industry complex.

The working name of the company is Aromenergoprom. The company is supposed to cover the whole nuclear power production cycle: uranium and fuel production, NPP design and construction, nuclear machine building, export of services and electricity production.

The company will fully belong to the state, however, in some sectors, particularly, in machine building, the private capital will still be present.
