– Establishment of state corporation is a right step

But we must remember that oil and gas will end some day, while coal is not safe for the environment due to emission of CO2. So, the only alternative in this situation is nuclear energy. Already tomorrow nuclear products will start to domineer on the world energy market. So, it was a timely step to establish a single integrated structure enjoying substantial state support. The Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy (Rosatom) was an exclusively executive body and was legislatively restricted in its activities. Rosatom State Corporation is free to decide and act. It has the right to do something the Federal Agency could not do.

The consolidation of all segments of the nuclear industry, on the one hand, and the enlargement of its rights and capacities, on the other, has necessitated the establishment of such a corporation. It unites all sectors of the nuclear industry, starting from machine (instrument, reactor) building to NPP construction, starting from uranium mining and enrichment to nuclear waste treatment and disposal. Now all these sectors are in one hand and this is very important for both the industry and the state.
