In the last two years Rosatom has made lots of crucial decisions. It has consolidated its efforts for reforming and developing all the key elements of the nuclear industry. The crown of the reform is the establishment of Rosatom state corporation. I think that this corporation will make the work of our nuclear industry more effective and will enhance the energy security of our state and economy. The corporation will also help us to strengthen our positions on the world market.
I would like to point out the decisions concerning the development of uranium mining in Zabaykalye region, particularly, in Krasnokamensk. This sphere will be dynamically developed and will enjoy substantial financial support. Presently, we are actively prospecting our uranium deposits all over the country.
90% of the Russian uranium is mined in Chita region with no new deposits prospected and developed in the last decade. Now the government has begun investing billions of rubles in the development of uranium mining as it is the basis of our nuclear power industry.
The head of Rosatom has repeatedly visited Chita region and Krasnokamensk and is well aware of the situation. He has made specific decisions, particularly, for the resettlement of the small village of Oktyabrskoye.
I think that we have good chances to successfully implement the federal target program for the construction of new nuclear power plants. Now we have to catch up with out key rivals on the market. For this purpose, we need to develop our technologies. Russia has quite good partners in the sphere: China, India and other developing countries. We also have old partners, for example, Hungary. We have quite good positions and in order to strengthen them we need competitive projects. I think that Rosatom state corporation will help us to achieve this goal.
To remind, President of Russia Vladimir Putin is going to appoint Sergey Kiriyenko as head of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation as he believes that Kiriyenko is the best candidate for the post of the head of the corporation.
