– I am sure that Sergey Kiriyenko will cope with all the tasks set by the President

I think that when offering Sergey Kiriyenko the post of the head of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation President of Russia Vladimir Putin kept in mind the great managerial contribution Kiriyenko made to the development of the nuclear industry when heading the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy.

Under Kiriyenko the industry has undergone drastic reforms. We have begun to build new nuclear power units and floating nuclear power plants. The first floating NPP is presently being built at Sevmash (Arkhangelsk region). This is the first plant in the series of national nuclear power plants of small capacity.

Despite the suspicion of everything new – especially in a sphere like nuclear power engineering, the head of Rosatom has managed to see that small-capacity nuclear power plants have a good prospect and has included them in the federal program. I have met with Kiriyenko several times and I would like to say that it is very easy to work with him. He is clever and competent.

So, I think that President Putin’s choice is quite right. Kiriynko will cope with all the tasks set by the President to the nuclear sector.

To remind, President of Russia Vladimir Putin is going to appoint Sergey Kiriyenko as head of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation as he believes that Kiriyenko is the best candidate for the post of the head of the corporation.
