Mikhail Grishankov, first vice chairman of State Duma Committee on Safety

– I would like to point out the importance of the reforms in the nuclear industry

First of all, I would like to point out the adoption of laws on the reorganization of the nuclear industry. This is a strong stimulus for its development.

As a representative of Chelyabink region, I dream to see South-Ural NPP built in my region. At least, I am doing my best to push this project. I am glad that the head of Rosatom actively lobbies nuclear projects on both the governmental and presidential level.

One of the key achievements of our specialists abroad is the conquest of new markets. One example is TVEL’s contract for supply of fuel pellets to Sizewell NPP (the United Kingdom). Another good example is TVEL’s contract for supplying the Czech Temelin NPP with fuel instead of Westinghouse. By winning the tender, TVEL has proved once again that it produces the best fuel for WWER reactors. In fact, in the last two years Russia has won back the WWER fuel market in Europe.

In the early autumn Russia and Australia signed an agreement for the peaceful use of nuclear energy, particularly, for the use of Australian uranium by Russian companies.

This year Rosatom has carried out active measures to reinforce the dam on Techa cascade and has made a crucial decision to resettle the residents of the village of Muslumovo (Chelyabinsk region). Today, nobody doubts that this project will be successfully completed. I think that the project for the resettlement of the village of Oktyabrsky (Chita region) will be as successful.

I am glad to see that Rosatom is taking active steps to not only develop the nuclear industry and the economy but also protect the people having contact with the sphere.

I would like to wish all employees of the industry prosperity, health and new achievements!
