– This year our nuclear industry has been steadily developing and is moving towards progress

I think that the attempt to overcome the crisis of the 1990s was the key achievement of the past year. We have taken our first steps towards real business and market economy. I am glad that terms like “profitability” and “cost reduction” are becoming a norm for our nuclear industry. We are ready to help the industry to move in this direction.

As regards the development of innovations, many still regard them as a miracle. We should seek to introduce such notions as “market size,” “share of sales,” “competitive advantage,” i.e. to “translate” innovations into the language of economy.

We must understand that, as soon as we start acting on the market rather than just thinking that we are acting on it, we will really start to develop. Next year we will have to work hard towards this end.

I hope that all the positive tendencies that have emerged in the sector this year will develop and will give tangible results next year. I wish you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
