– Lack of agreement on uranium supplies was a big obstacle to development of US-Russian trade-economic relations

I welcome the singing of an amendment to the Agreement Suspending the Antidumping Investigation on Uranium from the Russia. The lack of such agreement was a big obstacle to the development of trade-economic relations between Russia and the United States. The amendment specifies the procedure for lifting the existing antidumping restrictions on Russian uranium in the United States and means that starting from 2011 we will get direct access to the US market. This is very important.

As you may know, the 112% antidumping duty was imposed in the 1990s.

The management of Rosatom have said that the lifting of the restrictions is one of their key priorities. So, we can congratulate them on their first victory in the matter.
