Commission on Transfer of Nuclear Icebreaker Fleet has met in Murmansk

The Commission on Transfer of Nuclear Icebreaker Fleet met at Murmansk Shipping Company OJSC on May 21. The Chairman of the Commission is the head of the Territorial Department for Murmansk region of Rosimuschestvo (the Federal Agency for State Property Management) B.Mikov.

Representatives of Murmansk Shipping Company and the new operator, Atomflot FSUE, took part in the meeting. The Commission considered mechanisms for transfer of the Russian nuclear icebreakers to their owner, the Russian Federation, represented by the Territorial Department for Murmansk region of Rosimuschestvo after the termination of the trust management contract.
  
The representatives of Murmansk Shipping Company confirmed their readiness to help the Territorial Department for Murmansk region of Rosimuschestvo during the transfer and registration procedures. According to the schedule of transfer, all the nuclear icebreakers of Murmansk Shipping Company should be transferred to the Territorial Department for Murmansk region of Rosimuschestvo till Aug 27 2008 and afterwards to Atomflot FSUE.
