Rosatom and Atomprof organize conference-seminar for heads and specialists of environment protection services of nuclear companies

On June 4–5 2008 Rosatom and Atomprof conducted a conference-seminar for heads and specialists of environment protection services of nuclear companies

The conferees discussed their work in 2007 and plans for 2008 and the following years as well as exchanged experience in the field of environment protection.

Almost 50 people took part in the seminar: they represented Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, TVEL OJSC, All-Russian Research Institute of Chemical Technologies (VNIIHT), Typhoon SPA, Isotope FSUE, Instrument Making Plant, V.Khlopin Radium Institute, All-Russian Institute of Nuclear Power Plants (VNIIAES), OKBM, Hydropress, Radon, Russian-Federal Nuclear Center-All-Russian Institute of Experimental Physics (RFNC-VNIIEF), Radon (St.Petersburg), Ural Electrochemical Plant, Atomenergorpoekt, Chepetsk Mechanical Plant, Research Institute of Nuclear Reactors (NIIAR), All-Russian Research Institute of Automatics (VNIIA), Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant, FRECOM and other manufacturing and research companies.

The key topics of the conference were ways to improve the environment protection activities of nuclear companies, the ecological policy of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, the measures for meeting the requirements of Montreal and Kyoto protocols and improving the ecological legislation, particularly, adopting a law on treatment of radioactive waste as well as problems of radiation monitoring and the first stage of intercalibration program.
