Vladimir Putin demands to increase the share of nuclear energy in the country

At the council with the heads of nuclear military and energy industries of Russia the President remarked, that about 3 gig watt of energy capacities were constructed in USSR annually, but Russian Federation has constructed only 1 gig watt within 5 years.

In accordance with his words “as a result, the share of nuclear energy industry in energy balance of Russia is 16%”. And if “nothing will be done in this sphere, but only to continue modern trend, then the share will fall to 1–2% by 2030” underlined the President of Russia. However, V.Putin is sure that Russian nuclear energy industry is able to develop much faster.

Also the President reminded the audience that the task of increasing the share of nuclear energy generation up to 25% was set in the beginning of the year.
