10.10.2006 // Information centre at Beloyarsk NPP
Energy unit BN-600 operated at a nominal capacity level.
Since September 19th till October 9th the energy unit had been stopped for a scheduled overload of fuel and inspection of the equipment.
There were no infringements of limits and conditions for safe operation. In September the output of radiation as inert gases into the atmosphere was 0.01% of the allowable level.
Radiation conditions in the city of Zarechny and the area of Beloyarsk NPP corresponded to the level of normal operation and were at the level of natural background values:
• The city of Zarechny — 5,0 micro roentgen per hour (0,05 micro zivert per hour);
• Settlement. Beloyarsky — 5,0 micro roentgen per hour (0,05 micro zivert per hour);
• Settlement. V.Dubrovo — 6,5 micro roentgen per hour (0,065 micro zivert per hour);
• Settlement. Kamenka — 6,0 micro roentgen per hour (0,06 micro zivert per hour);
• Settlement. Rezhik — 6,5 micro roentgen per hour (0,065 micro zivert per hour).
For the territory of Russia the natural radiation background makes — from 4 to 20 micro roentgen per hour (from 0,04 to 0,2 micro zivert per hour).
The volumetric activity of water in the Beloyarsk water basin is 0,07 beckerel per liter (while the contents of water basins in its upper part is 0,074–0,3 Bk/l).
Thus, the operation of Beloyarsk NPP does not render negative influence on the environment and health of the population.
