Head of Rosatom will meet with Kyrgyz President

On Friday Head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko will go on a working visit to Kyrgyzstan

In Bishkek Kiriyenko will meet with Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev. The meeting will be followed by a conference of the co-chairs of the Russian-Kyrgyz Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade-Economic Cooperation.

On Friday Head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko will go a working visit to Kyrgyzstan, reports the spokesman of Rosatom Sergey Novikov.

He says that Kiriyenko will meet with Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev. The meeting will be followed by a conference of the co-chairs of the Russian-Kyrgyz Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade-Economic Cooperation.

Kiriyenko is the Russian co-chair of the Commission, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Felix Kulov — the Kyrgyz co-chair. The sides will sign a protocol. On Friday evening Kiriyenko will return to Moscow.

«We have to sum up the results of our work,» Kiriyenko said during a press-conference on Thursday. He reminded the journalists that in early Sept the Kyrgyz Prime Minister visited Moscow and, then, the sides formulated a plan of action in the key directions of trade-economic cooperation. Now, in Kyrgyzstan, we will formalize this plan, Kiriyenko said.

He believes that electric power engineering is the most important direction of Russian-Kyrgyz cooperation and during their Friday meeting the co-chairs of the Commission will discuss the projects to build a cascade of water power plants in Kyrgyzstan, to synchronize the energy systems of the two countries, electricity export-import problems and the prospects of cooperation with Gazprom.
