Members of the Union of Nuclear Territories and Enterprises are sure that federal plans for nuclear capacity development should be supplemented by regional ones
Members of the Board of the Union of Nuclear Territories and Enterprises are sure that federal plans for nuclear capacity development should be supplemented by regional ones. This will allow to develop the sector on a complex basis, the deputy head of Rosatom Andrey Malyshev said after the Dec 20 meeting of the Union.
He said: “Rosatom believes that it should discuss its urgent tasks with the Union and should consider the opinion and reaction of the regions hosting nuclear power facilities.”
One of the key topics of the meeting was the safety of NPPs. “Today Rosatom has presented a draft program that has been coordinated with the regions. Now we are discussing the program at Economic Development and Trade Ministry and Finance Ministry so we can see its final results,” Malyshev said.
The participants in the meeting discussed the plans for implementing the federal target programs “Development of Nuclear Power Industry of Russia in 2007–2010 and till 2015” and “Provision of Nuclear and Radiation Security Guarantees in 2008 and till 2015.”
The Union comprises 24 regions of Russia, the Inter-Regional Association of Nuclear Cities and Companies (10 municipal units and enterprises) and the Russian Trade Union of Nuclear Power Industry Workers.
