Rosatom exhibition at Federation Council will present the scale of nuclear power sector development

An exhibition about Russia’s nuclear power sector was held at the Federal Council on the occasion of the Day of Power Engineer

An exhibition about Russia’s nuclear power sector and its plans and capacities was opened at the Federation Council today, on the occasion of the Day of Power Engineer.

The exhibition gives a bright and concise picture of the huge scale of the sector’s tasks in the coming decades, particularly, the task to build 40 GW of new generating capacities in the coming 25 years. Never before has our nuclear power sector developed at such a rate.

The exhibition stands display the model of the future NPP-2600 with 1.160mln MW VVER-100 reactor, schemes, photos, pictures, diagrams and materials telling about the prospects of the nuclear power industry development. The Senators can familiarize themselves with innovative projects, particularly, the project of BN-800 reactor — an ecologically safe prototype of the reactors of the future. The Senators are doing much to provide this project with necessary financing.

Attending the opening ceremony were Speaker of FC Sergey Mironov and Head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko.
