Rosenergoatom NPPs fulfill annual plan ahead of time

On Dec 23, 2006, Russian NPPs fulfilled their annual plan by generating 150.9bln KWh

On Jan 1, 2007, the estimated electricity production will make up 154.6bln KWh, which is 102.5% of the balance of the Federal Tariff Service. The plant ratio will make up 75.9% against 73.4% in 2005.

Summing up the results of the past year, Deputy Director General-Technical Director of Rosenergoatom Nikolay Sorokin noted that in order to fulfill the tasks of the President and the Government for increasing electricity production within a short period of time, Rosenergoatom has worked out and is implementing:

• The program for increasing the electricity production at Rosenergoatom NPPs till 2015;
• The program for reducing electricity consumption for own needs;
• The program for prolonging the period of service of Rosenergoatom NPPs in 2007–2015.

«Well realizing that the country’s economic development requires the development of generating capacities, Rosenergoatom is solving the task on a complex basis,» Sorokin said. «Next year, Rosenergoatom will continue its efforts for increasing NPP output due to improved operation, optimized fuel cycles, prolonged inter-repair periods and other measures.»
