Atomstroyexport makes a statement on situation over Bushehr

Atomstroyexport: Bushehr NPP will be built whenever this becomes technically possible

Despite the intensive talks between Atomstroyexport and Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Atomstroyexport has not so far received financing from the Iranian side. «In this light, the statements of the Iranians that they transferred $12.700mln on Mar 1 sound absurd,» says Atomstroyexport Vice President Yevgenia Neymerovets.

The further delay in financing may lead to a crisis and delay in the schedule. Presently, the contractor organizations are demanding that Atomstroyexport pay for the delivered equipment. The company is paying from its own funds and is controlling the situation for the time being. However, if the Iranian side fails to resume the financing in the very near future, this process may become irreversible.
 
Despite the delay of the project, the construction is continued. Atomstroyexport hopes that the talks will result in constructive decision and that the Iranian side will show good sense and will resume the financing.
