President Putin: Russian-Kazakh nuclear energy cooperation is reaching qualitatively new targets

During a meeting in Moscow the presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan Vladimir Putin and Nursultan Nazarbayev discussed a wide spectrum of issues for enlarging trade-economic cooperation.

The presidents analyzed the fulfillment of the earlier agreements, particularly, on transit of energy resources, promotion of innovative projects in the fuel ad energy complex and establishment of JVs. They pointed out that there are wide prospects in scientific-technical cooperation, first of all, in the effective use of the Baikonur complex and the development of the Caspian Sea resources. «Our cooperation is reaching qualitatively new targets,» Putin said.

During a meeting earlier in the day, government members considered Kazakhstan’s involvement in the establishment of uranium enrichment center. President Nazarbayev confirmed Kazakhstan’s interest in the project.
