The 1st unit of Tianwan NPP is to be put into commercial service in the first half of this year

The 1st unit of Tianwan NPP will be put into commercial service in the first half of 2007, the 2nd unit will be launched by the end of the year, says the spokesman of Rosatom Sergey Novikov.

“The commissioning of the 1st unit is scheduled for the first half of this year, i.e. for May-June,” says Novikov.

The 1st unit of Tianwan NPP was launched a year ago. In early 2007, following the permission of the Chinese nuclear control authorities, the capacity of the unit was raised to 100%. Later, the unit was stopped for planned preventive repairs. The general contractor of the project is Atomstroyexport (Russia).
