More than half (385 of 741) of the householders in Muslumovo, a village that suffered from a military project in the 1950s, have applied for resettlement
292 families are planning to buy houses in Chelyabinsk region, 93 households — to move to Novomuslumovo, a projected area at the station of Muslumovo. 74 contracts have been made and paid so far.
Some families are not yet ready for resettlement: they have not prepared the necessary documents despite the active work of the information center, lawyers and realtors. That’s why the contract-making process is not as quick as it might be.
The construction of Novomuslumovo will be started no later than May 2007. Until then the Government of Chelyabinsk region will make public the Master Plan and each Muslumovo resident will be able to choose the area he likes. Each house will have water and gas supply and sewerage system. People will be offered different house designs. The area will have a school, medical center, administration building.
The program will be finished in 2009.
