Russia and Mongolia have signed a protocol on cooperation in the sphere of uranium ore prospecting, extraction and processing
On Apr 13 a Russian delegation led by the head of the Federal Agency of Nuclear Energy Sergey Kiriyenko arrived in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia).
The Russian delegates have already met with Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar, Prime Minister Miegombo Enkhbold, Finance Minister and Acting Trade and Industry Minister Nadmidyr Bayartsayhan and other cabinet members.
Kiriyenko and Bayartsayhan have signed a protocol on development of cooperation in uranium ore prospecting, extraction and processing.
The sides are willing to implement international projects for uranium ore prospecting, extraction and processing in the territory of Russia and Mongolia. A special working group is to prepare a plan of action for improving the legal basis, training specialists and setting up productions. The first report is to be made in July 2007.
The Russian delegation comprised the heads of Techsnabexport, RENOVA, Gazprombank, Atomstroyexport.
