Head of Rostekhnadzor is sure that floating NPPs are safe

The head of Rostekhnadzor Konstantin Pulikovsky is sure that floating NPPs are “absolutely safe and pose no radiation threat to the environment”

During a press-conference on Apr 17, Pulikovsky said that Rostekhnadzor has been closely controlling the project since its preparation. “While licensing that project we applied quite new approaches to the nuclear and radiation safety control,” Pulikovsky said.

Presently, Rostekhnadzor controls all the NPP construction projects in Russia, including the project of the first floating NPP, from the moment of their drafting to the selection of the site and the process of implementation.
