The reactor of the 1st unit of Tianwan NPP is operating at 100% thermal capacity

The electric capacity is 1055 MW.

The capacity was raised gradually throughout the process of testing.

The testing will be continued. As soon as it is completed, the unit will be put into commercial service.

Since its launch the unit has produced 2,012,552 MWh.

Note:

The contract for Tianwan NPP construction was signed in 1997. Under the contract, Russia is obliged to build two WWER-1000 power units with a total capacity of 2000 MW. This is the biggest Russian-Chinese project. Tianwan is the most powerful NPP project in China. 

Experts say that WWER-1000 reactors are very safe. They have deeply echeloned protection and several safety levels.
