The Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy and the Government of Nizhniy Novgorod region signed a cooperation agreement in Moscow on Apr 25

The agreement was signed by the head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko and the governor of Nizhniy Novgorod Valery Shantsev.

The sides have agreed to preserve and enhance the scientific-industrial capacities of the Rosatom companies operating in Nizhniy Novogorod region, to ensure their effective operation and to promote their products on the local and foreign markets as well as to develop the energy potential of the region.

The sides will also cooperate under the federal target programs as well as in training personnel and attracting private funds for prospective projects.

The sides will jointly consider the possibility of NPP construction in Nizhniy Novogorod region and will compare the efficiency of this project with other possible and existing alternatives. They will also take measures for building a company for designing and building NPPs.

The Government of Nizhniy Novogorod will actively help the local Rosatom companies to fulfill their state orders and to develop their production and will foster positive public opinion about nuclear energy.
