Rosenergoatom has summed up the results of the contest “The Best NPP of 2006”

Among the key evaluation criteria were safety, efficiency, labor protection, radiation safety, efficiency of maintenance, fire safety as well as financial and economic activities, personnel management, social security, efficiency pf capital investments.

Among additional criteria were readiness for operation in autumn-winter period, improvement of operation and enhancement of efficiency, public relations, use of new types of fuel.

As a result, the jury, led by Rosenergoatom Director General Sergey Obozov, has proclaimed Balakovo NPP (director – V.Ignatov) as the Best NPP of 2006. Kola NPP (director Y. Kolomtsev) is the second, Volgodonsk NPP (director – A. Palamarchuk) – the third.

We congratulate the winners and wish the personnel of all Russian NPPs success in ensuring the safety and efficiency of their plants and the development of the nuclear power industry of Russia.

Balakovo NPP has got the title for the sixth time. It was proclaimed the best in 1995, 1999, 2000, 2003 and 2005.
