Results of the first month of the maintenance campaign at Volgodonsk NPP

1st unit of Volgodonsk NPP under repair since Apr 17

The repair will last till June 15. The specialists of the plant and the contractor companies are inspecting and refueling the reactor, repairing the steam generators, pressure compensators, circulation pumps. In the turbine department they are repairing the low pressure cylinder.

The radiation background in the nearby zone is within norm.

The 1st and only unit of Volgodonsk NPP was launched in Dec 2001 and has been annually repaired since then. The maintenance is aimed at enhancing the unit’s safety and efficiency.
