Russian Government approves resolution on establishment of Atomenergoprom

01.06.2007 // Interfax

Russian Prime Minister has ratified a resolution on the establishment of Atomenergoprom

The head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko said on May 31 that this project needs one more governmental resolution. The second resolution is expected to be passed in mid June.

“The regulations of the holding are already being considered by the concerned department,” Kiriyenko said.

Atomenergoprom should be formed by July 1 and by Aug 1 it should embrace such state-owned companies as TVEL and Techsnabexport. “The corporization process is already underway and should be completed by Nov 1. All corporized companies should be transferred into the holding’s capital by Dec 2007,” Kiriyenko said.

The Government has also drafted a relevant bill. This week the bill will be submitted to the concerned ministries and departments and by July 1 — to the president. “This bill should be adopted by the end of this year. If we do it, by Jan 2008 we will finalize the reorganization of the nuclear power sector,” Kiriyenko said.
