The head of Rosatom is planning to sign a memorandum on nuclear energy cooperation between Russia and Ukraine
On Monday, June 4, the head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko will pay a working visit to Kyiv, where he is planning to meet with Ukrainian Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich and to sign a memorandum on nuclear energy cooperation between Russia and Ukraine.
The spokesman of Rosatom Sergey Novikov says that during his one-day visit Kiriyenko will meet with Yuri Boyko, the fuel and energy minister of Ukraine, and Andrey Derkach, the president of Ukratomprom and Energoatom (the operator of the Ukrainian NPPs). Kiriyenko and Derkach will sign a memorandum on nuclear energy cooperation between Ukraine and Russia.
Experts say that the Russian-Ukrainian nuclear energy cooperation can develop in almost all segments of the nuclear fuel cycle, particularly, in uranium extraction, fuel production and supply, NPP building.
