Rosatom announces results of open public contest of social projects

49 projects worth a total of 36mln RUR have won Rosatom’s open public contest of social projects

The contest is being held for the second time. Last year it covered only Chelyabinsk region, this year, it has embraced Leningrad, Murmansk, Kaliningrad, Chelyabinsk, Tomsk, Irkutsk and Krasnoyarsk regions.

145 public, ecological and non-profit organizations applied for participation from Mar 12 2007 till Apr 27 2007.

The jury has selected 49 projects.

Among them projects for organizing summer holidays for children from ecologically critical villages of Chelyabisnk region: Brodokalmak, Muslumovo, Russkaya Techa. The children will be sent to Chaika summer camp in Sochi.

Hundreds of school-children will spend their holidays in recreation and ecological camps. Lots of rural libraries will get new books. Many of the projects are supposed to provide people with medical and social assistance.
