Head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko and President of Interros Vladimir Potanin signed a cooperation agreement today

The sides have agreed to carry out joint projects in uranium prospecting and mining in Russia and abroad. First of all, they are going to introduce new methods that allow to increase uranium output with no damage to ecology.

     

The sides are interested in attracting investments in the production of high technologies and the development of innovative solutions.

The sides are also going to cooperate in training of qualified scientific, technical and managerial personnel.

  

This document is an example of private-state partnership aimed at developing the innovative economy of Russia.

  

Rosatom is a federal agency authorized by the government to carry out state policy, to provide state services and to manage state property in the spheres of nuclear power engineering, nuclear weapons complex, nuclear fuel cycle, nuclear science, nuclear and radiation safety, nonproliferation of nuclear materials and technologies and international cooperation.

As of Jan 1 2007 the capital of Interros holding company totaled $30bln. The company’s key assets are concentrated in metallurgy and mining (Norilsk Nickel), gold recovery (Polus Zoloto), power machines building (Power Machines), financial sector (Rosbank, Soglassye insurance company), agriculture and food industry (Agros Group), mass media (Prof-Media), real estate and tourism (Open Investments and Rosa Khutor).
