On July 1 Rostekhnadzor will introduce new methodological guidelines for nuclear power companies
On July 1 the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Control will introduce new methodological guidelines for standard and license compliance for companies designing equipment for the nuclear power industry.
When inspecting such a company, a Rostekhnadzor expert should check out if the company has a production quality program and if the equipment it makes complies with relevant standards. The inspector should examine the company’s standard control system, design, metrological and other documentation. He should see if the company has an experimental base, pilot production, test grounds and stands.
The inspector should check up if the company collects information about defects, analyzes it and takes timely corrective measures. The inspector should also examine all remarks and complaints by the company’s consumers and partner organizations.
If the inspector detects any deficiencies, he should make an improvement notice.
The failure to remove the deficiencies or their further recurrence will be interpreted as the company’s inability to comply with its license. As a result, the license will be suspended or revoked, while the managers will be made responsible in line with the laws of the Russian Federaiton.
The previous guidelines were enacted in 1999.
