The final version of the general scheme for the development of the electric energy sector of Russia till 2020 will be ready by Sept: Khristenko

The final version of the general scheme for the development of the electric energy sector of Russia till 2020 will be ready by Sept, Energy Minister of Russia Viktor Khristenko said in State Duma on Wednesday, June 27.

“By that time we should submit the improved version of the document,” he said.

Presently, the Government is considering a number of documents regulating the work of the electric energy sector, particularly, the draft resolution on liquidation of cross subsidizing and decommissioning of some energy capacities.

For the first time the general scheme was considered and taken as basis during a meeting of the Cabinet in mid Apr. Earlier, Khristenko said that by Sept 1 the document should be linked with the development prospects of the transport and gas sectors.

The scheme stipulates that by 2020 the share of gas in the total fuel balance of Russia should be reduced to 35%, while those of goal and nuclear energy increased to 31% and 20%, respectively.
