29.06.2007 // Press service of Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy

Construction of Novo-Muslumovo was started in June 2007

The construction is being carried out over 20 land plots.

As of today 198 families have expressed wish to move from Muslumovo, a village that suffered from a defense project in the 1950s, to Novo-Muslumovo. 64 of them have already applied for land plots.

Meanwhile, 85 of 250 old houses situated along contaminated Techa River have already been destroyed. The former tenants have received compensation and moved to new houses.

As was reported earlier, Rosatom and the Government of Chelyabinsk region have offered the residents of Muslumovo to leave their village and to get compensation for their old houses. Each family will be given 1mln RUR and a choice: either to spend the money at their discretion or to move to new comfortable house in the new residential area at Muslumovo station.

As of today 741 households are subject to resettlement. 478 families have already decided what they will do: of them 192 have chosen to move to Muslumovo station. 175 households have made contracts for receiving compensation, 168 of them have already received the money.
