On July 7 2007 Russian Prime Minister ratified government decree confirming charter of Atomenergoprom
The Prime Minister has also approved the membership of the company’s board of directors. The head of the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy Sergey Kiriyenko has been appointed as Chairman of the Board. Among the other directors are the deputy head of the government staff Igor Borovkov and the deputies of the head of Rosatom Tatiana Elfimova, Ivan Kamenskikh and Vladimir Travin.
Travin has been appointed as Director of Atomenergoprom.
The decree on “Reorganization of the Nuclear Power Complex of Rrussia,” envisaging formation of 100% state-owned Atomenergoprom holding, was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Apr 27 2007.
The decree says that among the key priorities of the new holding, its subsidiaries and dependent JSCs is to design, site, construct, operate, maintain, modernize, repair and decommission nuclear power facilities, sources of radiation and facilities for storing nuclear materials and radioactive matters; to carry out research in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy; to introduce innovative technologies; to build, operate and maintain NPPs abroad; to produce electricity and heat at NPPs; to prospects and mine mineral resources containing nuclear materials and radioactive matters; to enrich uranium and other nuclear materials; to design, produce and sell fuel elements; to export and import products and services related to the use of nuclear energy; to train specialists.
Biography:
Vladimir Travin was born in 1960. He graduated from Experimental Nuclear Physics Department of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
He worked as engineer and researcher at All-Russian Institute of Experimental Physics (Sarov)
He has been financial director at Sarovbusinessbank, vice president for finance at Norsi Oil, vice president for finance at Transneft
In Dec 2005 he was appointed as advisor of the head of Rosatom, in Jan 2006 as deputy head of Rosatom.
