2nd unit of Tianwan NPP is operating at full capacity

On July 11 2007, given the consent of the National Nuclear Safety Administration of China, Atomstroyexport company set the reactor of the 2nd unit of Tianwan NPP at full capacity, thereby starting the final stage of the unit’s launch.

Since June 29 the unit has been under 700-hour demonstration service.

Since its start-up in May, the unit has produced 489,792 MWh.

The commercial launch of the unit is scheduled for Sept 2007.

Atomstroyexport JSC is the leading Russian organization implementing intergovernmental agreements on the construction of NPPs abroad. Presently, it is the only company in the world that is simultaneously building 4 NPPs with 7 units abroad: China, India, Iran and Bulgaria. The first unit of Tianwan NPP was put into commercial service in May 2007.
