16.07.2007 // Press service of Atomstroyexport
On July 15 2007 Atomstroyexport successfully completed stationary testing of 2nd unit of Tianwan NPP
On July 10 2007 the unit was launched at full capacity. Now the unit has been stopped for 22-day maintenance, to be later restarted and subjected to dynamic testing in line with the commissioning program.
Particularly, ASE will turn off the main circulation and feed pumps and will switch the unit to self-sufficient capacity.
After the dynamic testing ASE will start preparing the unit for commercial service — supposedly in Sept 2007.
Since its launch the unit has produced 567,959 MWh.
Tianwan NPP has the strongest reactors in China and is the biggest Chinese-Russian project so far.
The plant’s WWER-1000 reactors are safe and efficient. They enjoy deeply echeloned protection with passive and active safety systems. The 1st unit was commissioned in May 2007.
Atomstroyexport JSC is the leading Russian organization implementing intergovernmental agreements on the construction of NPPs abroad. Presently, it is the only company in the world that is simultaneously building 4 NPPs with 7 units abroad: China, India, Iran and Bulgaria.
