New internet-portal of Rosenergoatom launched

19.07.2007 // Press service of Rosenergoatom

In July 2007 Rosenergoatom Concern launched new version of its web-site

Now the site is being tested to be later enlarged with new images and sections.

“The restructuring of the site was the final stage of Rosenergoatom’s re-branding campaign. Our objective was to create a single corporate web resource so as to improve our liaison with target audiences. If, formerly, the site was just a source of information, now, it will be a source of education and on-line communication,” says the director general of the Press Center of the Nuclear Power Industry Dina Kulikova.

The portal has been designed in cooperation with Actis Systems, Russia’s leading provider of eBusiness solutions, the author of over 600 projects for such companies as VTB 24, Gazprombank, Raiffeisen Bank, Bee-Line, RosTelecom, Microsoft, Sibneft.

The managing director of Actis Systems Anya Sverdlov says: “Our task was quite interesting: we had to combine corporate, informative and educative functions into a good-for-all and easy-to-use resource — a kind of internet-representation. This is especially important for Rosenergoatom now that nuclear energy is becoming an object of growing global interest.”

The art director of the project Aleksey Antonov says “The first stage of the project was very productive. The Concern has good specialists and we did a good and quick job together. The corporate and informative components are ready. Now we are working on the educative component and I am sure you will find it very interesting.”

The portal is based on the most progressive WebBuilder system and comprises the web-sites of all 10 Russian NPPs. The educative component consists of two independent sites: “Virtual Atomic Energy Museum” and “Atomic Energy for Schoolchildren and Students.”

The key objective of the restructuring was to make the site simpler, clearer and easier to use – to create a well-structured database for quick and easy access. The new version has an “Operational Information” section, a module making daily reports about the work of the nuclear power plants and the radiation situation in the nearby areas.

The “Nuclear Power Plants” section includes an interactive map of the existing NPPs and the sites of present and future constructions, including floating NPPs.

The “Virtual Atomic Energy Museum” contains detailed information about the history of the Russian nuclear power engineering and its key figures. In fact, this will be an independent site with lots of archives, photo galleries, video chronicles, historical reviews and an almanac.

Both educative resources are animated in such a way as to be attractive for audiences of different age. Interactive games, cross-words, quizzes will give you a better insight into nuclear power engineering: you will learn how NPPs are built and will be able to look inside the reactor to see how it works. Animated guides will help you navigate the site.
