Rescuers of Leningrad NPP save drowning yachtsmen

Rescuers of Leningrad NPP have saved yachtsmen suffering distress in the Gulf of Finland

On July 29 2007 at about 6:00 PM Moscow time the rescuers of Leningrad NPP received a signal from a yacht suffering distress near Kopora bay in the Gulf of Finland. The yacht had turned over sending the two yachtsmen into the storming sea.

Immediately upon receiving the signal the deputy director of the plant Alexander Kostin dispatched a group of rescuers to the scene. A speedboat “Mustang,” ridden by Aleksey Zolotov, “galloped” through the storm to save the drowning people. 

It was just in time: both the people and the boat were saved.
