Guest conference of Rosenergoatom took place at Kola NPP

The conference was chaired by Technical Director of Rosenergoatom Nikolay Sorokin.

The conferees discussed the current production tasks and the programs for extending the life of unit 3 and enhancing the production of units 3 and 4.

Specialists of Kola NPP reported on their work and made proposals on how to enhance the quality of maintenance and repairs.

The conferees also discussed social problems, particularly, the participation of Rosenergoatom in the establishment of a center for improving the qualification of the repairers of Kola NPP and training young specialists for the plant. The center will be established on the basis of technical vocational school 18 in Poliarnye Zori.

The guests visited the plant, particularly, the complex of liquid waste treatment.

To remind, the liquid waste treatment technology used by Kola NPP allows the plant to reduce the amount of radioactive waste subject to burial by 50 times. This is a unique technology applied only in Russia.
