Rosenergoatom is discussing problems of labor protection

15.08.2007 // Press service of Rosenergoatom

Heads of labor protection departments of Russian NPPs are meeting in Moscow on Aug 14–17 2007

Representatives of technical and information technology departments and nuclear safety authorities are also there.

While opening the conference, the first deputy inspector general of Rosenergoatom Igor Zonov reported on the safety and labor protection situation at the Russian NPPs. He stressed the importance of analysis in the work of labor protection specialists. “We should analyze our mistakes so they no longer recur.”

In Jan-July 2007 there was just one accident at the Russian NPPs — as many as a year before. The key cause of injury in the last six years is the effect of an electric shock or moving and rotating objects. The conferees have analyzed the accidents so as to prevent them in the future.

They have also considered the results of “Work Order,” an experimental electronic program launched at Kola NPP for recording and systematizing the work orders made at the plant. The software has an extensive database on the equipment operated by Kola NPP and the technological operations carried out at the plant and this makes the work order procedure much quicker and simpler.

Presently, Kola NPP has already installed the necessary computer network. Experts say that the “Work Order” program can be easily integrated into the Corporate Information System, an e-project that is currently being implemented at Rosenergoatom.

The conferees have examined the product and have pointed out that it can be applied at all nuclear power plants that have necessary technical capacities.

“Today, we can say that this e-system can be launched and operated at many of our nuclear power plants,” the head of the Labor and Personnel Protection Department of Rosenergoatom Aleksey Ivanov said.
