In Jan-July 2007 Russia increased its electricity production by 0.7%: Industry and Energy Ministry
In Jan-July 2007 the power plants of Russia produced 578.43bln KWh — 0.7% more electricity than in Jan-July 2006, reports the press service of the Industry and Energy Ministry of Russia. The thermal power plants produced 373.46bln KWh – 2.9% less than in Jan-July 2006, while the nuclear and water power plants increased their outputs by 2.7% and 12.23% to respective 92.5bln KWh and 112.23bln KWh.
In terms of percentage in total, the share of thermal power plants decreased from 66.9% to 64.6%, while the shares of WPPs and NPPs increased from respective 17.3% and 15.7% to 19.4% and 16%. In Jan-July 2007 the electricity consumption in Russia made up 572.9bln KWh – 2.6% more than a year before.
