Three Rosatom classes to be opened in Angarsk

Three Rosatom classes will be opened in Angarsk in 2007–2008

This project is part of Rosatom’s education program and the cooperation agreement between Rosatom and Irkutsk region signed by the head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko and the governor of Irkutsk region Alexander Tishanin on June 22 2007. The classes will consist of school-leavers of Angarsk selected through a competition. The youths will be provided with deep knowledge of physics, mathematics, information technologies, chemistry. The objective of the program is to raise the quality of specialized education in the region and to orient the local youths towards industry.

The first class will specialize in physics and mathematics and will be opened on the basis of the 11th form of school N2. The second class – 10th form – will consist of two groups: physics and chemistry and physics and mathematics. The third group will be opened at school N1 and will specialize in medicine and biology.

The classes will learn theory, do practical work at the information center of Angarsk Electrolytic Chemical Combine, hear lectures by independent experts and scientists, take part in regional contests, go camping in the summer. 

The Information Center of Rosatom reports that it is a long-term program. At later stages it may involve ecological organizations, local authorities and scientists.
