Rosenergoatom commission has inspected the construction of BN-800 reactor

The deputy director general for the new technological platform of Rosenergoatom O.Sarayev, the chief designer of OKBM’s BN-800 project V.Sedakov and the deputy chief engineer of Beloyarsk NPP N.Leontyev have inspected the course of the production of equipment for BN-800 (fast breeder) reactor at the four biggest machine building companies of Russia: ZiO-Podolsk, Sevmash, Baltiysky Zavod and Uralkhimmash.
 
The inspection has shown that the high-priority equipment (big boilers, reactor vault cladding, reactor shell bottoms, fuel treatment channels) is being produced according to the schedule and will be supplied in time – in Sept-Dec 2007.

In order to improve their interaction the sides have agreed to establish OKBM’s permanent representations at the above-mentioned plants. The offices will supervise the production of the equipment. The ZiO-Podolsk representation was set up on Aug 16 2007, the other offices will be opened in Nov.  

A total of 20 machine building companies are involved in the production of equipment for the BN-800 project.
