Meeting of the operational headquarters for the construction of unit 4 of Kalinin NPP

47 months are left before the launch of unit 4 of Kalinin NPP

The operational headquarters for the construction of unit 4 of Kalinin NPP met at the plant on Sept 4 2007. The meeting was chaired by the manager of the project, the director of Nizhniy Novgorod Atomenergoproject (AEP) Valery Limarenko. Representatives of Rosenergoatom, Kalinin NPP and the contractor companies examined the course of the project.
 
The director of Udomlia branch of AEP Vyacheslav Manokhin said that construction and installation operations worth 8.4mln RUR were carried out in Aug 2007. Presently, the contractor companies are preparing an area for the cooling tower.  

Since the last meeting of the operational headquarters in Aug 16 2007 the contractor has prepared contracts with sub-contractor companies. The deputy director of AEP Mikhail Scherbak said that the contracts would be signed within the coming few days. The key requirement of the contract is the sub-contractor’s tax liability.

The representatives of the contractor organizations reported on their work: construction, personnel recruitment, plans.

Some 427.7mln RUR is supposed to be spent and 1,930 more workers — to be recruited by the end of this year. The contractors have to restore the foundations of the framework of the machine room, to install a crane in the main building, to prepare the basic infrastructure for the winter. The contractors expressed commitment to do the work in time.
