Floating NPPs in the Far East of Russia will be under strong protection

Russia will guarantee the security of the floating NPPs it is going to build in the Far East

“We will guarantee the security of our floating NPPs in the Far East,” the director of the Federal Security Service of Russia Nikolay Patrushev said during a briefing in Khabarovsk, when asked if there was any potential threat to the floating NPPs to be built in the region.

“The management of the plants do their work well. They meet all anti-terror and security requirements and show much more discipline than the managers of other sectors do,” Patrushev said.

Before the briefing, Patrushev had met with the chairmen of the anti-terrorist commissions of the regions of the Far East Federal District of the Russian Federation. The sides considered their further actions for preventing terrorism and improving the protection of water bio-resources in the Far East. Special attention was given to the safety of strategic and vital facilities, industry, transport, education, places of high concentration of people.
